Truck Fells Light Standard at Cuthbert and White Horse Pike

Road crews worked to repair the mess just after rush hour on Thursday morning.

There's nothing commuters along the White Horse Pike love more than a nice traffic accident to slow down the action, and at the tail end of rush hour on Thursday, that's exactly what they got.

According to reports from the scene, at about 9:45 a.m., an out-of-state tractor trailer traveling along the Cuthbert Boulevard failed to negotiate a turn onto the White Horse Pike.

The driver sideswiped a light standard, and boom, the whole works came crashing down.

Fortunately, crews were quick to the scene to effect repairs while police redirected traffic. The new light pole should be up and running by mid-day Thursday.
