Two More Drug Arrests for Collingswood Police

Collingswood police continue to encounter a number of individuals in possession of narcotics within the borough, including a pair of men arrested within a week of each another. 

At 8 a.m. on Jan. 19, officers were dispatched to the Krispy Kreme on Haddon Ave. to answer the report of a suspicious male loitering in the bathroom.

There, police say that Robert Gaskill, 33, of Mt. Laurel was observed injecting a substance into his body with a hypodermic syringe.

Gaskill was detained for investigation, and was found to be in possession of 7 plastic baggies that reportedly contained heroin, as well as 3 hypodermic syringes.

He was charged with possession of a controlled, dangerous substance (CDS) and possession of drug paraphernalia, and was remanded to Camden County correctional facility on $1,500 full-cash bail.

A week later to the day, officers caught up with Steven Earl, 53, of Collingswood, traveling in the 100 block of Park Avenue.

As Earl was known to have active warrants for his arrest within the borough, police arrested him on sight. An incidental search revealed that he also was in possession of a glass tubular pipe and several bags of what officers believed was crack-cocaine.

Earl was remanded to Camden County correctional facility on the strength of the existing warrants, to which were added two new charges: possession of paraphernalia and possession of CDS. His bail was set at $8,000.
