Wheelchair-Bound, Elderly Woman Robbed, Assaulted at Home

A break-in at her Collings Ave. home Sunday left an 83-year-old Haddon Twp. woman bruised and cut, the victim of a robbery.

Police are searching for information that will help them identify an alleged burglar who assaulted anΒ elderly, wheelchair-bound Haddon Township woman in her home on Sunday.

According to the Camden County Prosecutor's office, the 83-year-old victim was alone in her Collings Avenue home at 7:15 p.m.Β when a man came to the door andΒ threatened to kill her if she didn’t give him money.Β 

The two apparently struggled, briefly, but the attacker took money from her purse and fled the scene.Β

The victimΒ reportedly called for help via aΒ Life Alert device, andΒ that company notified Haddon Township Police. Police say the victim was bruised and cut from her struggle, but thatΒ she declined treatment at a hospital.

Authorities describeΒ her attacker as a white man standing about five feet, six inches tall, with a medium build and blue eyes.Β
