Woodlynne Teen Arrested for Firing Airsoft Gun at Youth Football Practice
Police say witnesses saw the teen shooting pellets at children during a football practice.

A Woodlynne teenager who witnesses said shot a pellet gun at children practicing youth football last week has been arrested and charged with weapons offenses, according to Oaklyn Police.
At 6:15 p.m. on October 2, Oaklyn police answered a report of a gun being fired off by the Oaklyn Cougars Athletic Association practice facility on West Cedar Avenue.
Police discovered that the shooter was a 15-year-old Woodlynne resident who had been using an airsoft pellet gun.

Witnesses on the scene reported that the teen walked out of the woods nearby, pointed the gun at a group of kids playing football, and fired. Police said one child was hit but was uninjured.
The teen, whose name was not released due to his juvenile status, was charged with assault and possession of a weapon. His case was referred to the Camden County Prosecutors Office.

It's the second time in recent memory that police have been called out to investigate an incident at the youth sports recreational facility.Β
