Zane North Students Celebrate Seuss by Reading
Students and teachers held a "read out" at the school on Tuesday to mark Read Across America.
Zane North celebrated Dr. Seuss's birthday and Read Across America this week with a host of activities that reinforced the importance of literacy.
While dressing up in crazy socks, hats and T-shirts from favorite places, students at Zane cheerfully shared tales of their favorite books and characters.
In another twist to promote a love for reading, the entire Zane community joined together in a “ school-wide read out.” Students of all ages were observed having a good time reading in the hallways with the staff and Principal Santo. A variety of genres were examined such as: historical fiction, mystery, nonfiction, biography, realistic fiction, science fiction and fantasy.
