His car veered to the right, hit a curb, went through bushes, and hit the Courtyard Marriot sign. Then it went over a retaining wall and dropped 12 feet into a retention basin, where it landed on its roof.

A bystander, who had been in the parking lot, helped Dalal get out of his vehicle before police arrived.

He was taken to Princeton University Hospital by the Monroe First Aid Squad.

Nieves was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital by Monmouth Junction First Aid Squad.

Both suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The road was partially blocked for about an hour as a crew from Georges Towing used a lift to pull the car out of the hotel parking lot culvert.

The crash is under investigation by the South Brunswick Police Department Traffic Safety Bureau.
