Duct Tape Product Company Sticks for Cranford Girl, 11
Francesca Pinto, 11, runs her own business, Duct Tape Dreams.
Duct Tapers are all over YouTube, but one Cranford girl is at the top of the category with her channel, Duct Tape and Wax.
Francesca Pinto, 11, has her own company of Duct Tape products called, Duct Tape Dreams. Pinto started out creating wallets, which she has tons of, but has spread to creating all types of products including a locker organizer and her school science project.
Right now, Pinto has more than 1,600 subscribers to her channel on YouTube where she showcases how-to videos of her favorite duct tape products. The company, Westcott Brand, sponsors her and sends her products such as scissors and other crafting tools.
Westcott found Pinto through her channel and reached out to her about a sponsorship.
“There’s a ton of different stuff you can make form duct tape,” Pinto said. “That’s why I like it so much.”
Pinto is the younger sister of Nicholas Pinto, who runs the company LB Scoots. She explained that her duct tape company also helps Nicholas by taking older products he has and renewing them or giving them an exclusive look.
“I like to think outside of the box,” Pinto explained. “I try to base it off of real life stuff, you want to do something no one else does.”
Pinto keeps her YouTube channel light and funny, she said, adding that she doesn’t want to be boring.
She will also host question and answer videos, so viewers can get a better understanding of what they are doing in order to create some of the products.
“It makes me all warm and fuzzy inside when my viewers are happy,” Pinto said.
The wallets, which are Pinto’s most common product, last a long time without any visible wear or tear, she said. Users will leave reviews of the product about how long it’s lasting and how good it still looks.
In addition to her Duct Taping, Pinto enjoys all types of crafts and currently her mother is teaching her how to sew. She also horseback rides, plays soccer, softball and volleyball.
She added that she hopes to one day keep the company going, but her future goal is to be a veterinarian because of her strong love of all animals.
“The possibilities for this (duct taping) are endless,” Pinto explained. “Which will make me keep making stuff.”
