FEMA Center In Cranford To Close Soon
The Disaster Recovery Center in Cranford will close permanently on Friday.

CRANFORD, NJ — The Disaster Recovery Center in Cranford will close permanently on Friday.
The center opened after Hurricane Ida to assist residents in finding aid and answer questions. The center has been open at the Cranford Community Center, 220 Walnut Ave. weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The center will be closed for the Veterans Day holiday, Nov. 11, and will reopen for the final day of operation on Nov. 12 and close for good at 5 p.m.

Representatives from FEMA, the U.S. Small Business Administration, and Hazard Mitigation are available at the center to explain disaster assistance programs, answer questions about written correspondence and provide literature about repairs and rebuilding to make homes more disaster resistant.
Help is still available. Survivors can find their nearest DRC online at fema.gov/drc, or text DRC and their current ZIP Code to 43362. Standard message and data rates apply. The last day to register for FEMA disaster assistance is Dec. 6.
