2 Firefighters Hurt, 9 Homeless After Fire Near School In Union County
The fire was just yards away from the Abraham Lincoln School.
ELIZABETH, NJ — A fire broke out at a home near Abraham Lincoln School on Wednesday, leaving two firefighters hurt and nine people homeless, according to a city spokesperson.
The firefighters' injuries were non-serious, city officials say.
At around 1:45 p.m., firefighters responded to the multi-story home in the 400 block of Murray Street and evacuated the building.

The fire was deemed under control by 5 p.m. and a cause is yet to be determined.
Multiple agencies, including the Westfield Fire Department, also helped at the scene.
