Applications Still Open For East Brunswick Citizen Police Academy

The academy will run from Monday, Sept. 8, through the week of Oct. 20.

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - The East Brunswick Police Department has opened applications for residents and business owners to participate in its upcoming Citizen Police Academy.

The academy will run from Monday, Sept. 8, through the week of Oct. 20. Sessions will be held evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the East Brunswick Library. There will be a total of six to seven sessions.
This comprehensive program offers participants an inside look at modern policing through hands-on demonstrations and presentations led by East Brunswick Police Department personnel.

The curriculum covers essential topics including Crime Prevention and Community Policing, Professional Standards, Traffic Safety, Crime Scene Investigation, Patrol Techniques, and special demonstrations by the SWAT team.

Participants will learn information about the inner workings of the East Brunswick Police Department and gain a better understanding of the police profession and how they can help make our community safe. The academy has a limited number of seats, which will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. All attendees must submit to and pass a brief background check. Registration and application must be submitted no later than Thursday, Sept. 4.
