The Art of Henna at East Brunswick Public Library

This program is led by Malkea Musliwala, owner of IMZA Creations.

East Brunswick Public Library (2 Jean Walling Civic Center) celebrates Muslim Heritage Month with the program "The Art of Henna" on Wednesday, January 8 at 7:00 pm.

This interactive session offers a captivating journey into the rich artistic tradition of henna. Participants will receive a brief cultural introduction followed by a hands-on opportunity to create personalized henna designs. Explore the intricate art form, unleash your creativity, and gain a deeper understanding for cultural diversity.

Henna is a temporary body art practiced for over 5000 years across Asia and Africa. It is used in celebration of special occasions. Unlike a tattoo—which is permanent—henna is a temporary dying of the skin surface that lasts for a few weeks.
