East Brunswick Mourns Passing Of Dedicated Firefighter After 50 Years of Service

Wayne Timper Sr. was 71 years old and served the fire company for 50 years.

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — The East Brunswick Independent Fire Company is mourning the loss of life member Wayne Timper Sr. He was 71 years old.

Timper has been a member of the Fire Company for 50 years and was a former lieutenant. He is the son of Ex-Chief William Timper and the brother of President Brian Timper, the fire company said.

“Our thoughts are with the Timper family as they navigate through this difficult time. The Fire Company thanks Wayne for his contributions to the East Brunswick Independent Fire Company< the fire company said.

Born in New Brunswick, Timper was a resident of East Brunswick for most of his life.

“Wayne had a passion and love for music. He found peace whenever he was playing his guitar, which he played everywhere that he could. He recently reunited with his high school band “Exit” to play at local shows and local bars, just like when they played at all of the high school dances during their time there,” according to his obituary.

In addition to music, Wayne was also an avid stock car fan and enjoyed local races on Saturday nights and traveling for NASCAR events.

A memorial visitation will be held on June 27, from 5 to 7 p.m., at The Brunswick Memorial Home, 454 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick, NJ. Cremation will be private.
