East Brunswick Public Library Holds AAPI Workshop for Creative Youths
The program features two immersive activities during an invigorating evening of fun, togetherness, and meaningful connection.

East Brunswick Public Library (2 Civic Center Drive) hosts a special program with author Kelly Lan on June 8 at 5:00 pm. Titled “We Are Multitudes: An AAPI Workshop for Creative Youths,” this one-hour workshop covers themes of Asian American identity, belonging, and history.
The program features two immersive activities during an invigorating evening of fun, togetherness, and meaningful connection. Participants will learn about the history of Angel Island and deconstruct the meaning behind their names. The program is perfect for grades 5-8 interested in art activism.
Lan is the curator of Kiss Papercuts Goodbye. This collection of high-impact visuals, photographs and infographics makes historical figures accessible. Readers can begin to see themselves as the hero of their own stories, giving them the confidence to rise above challenges and barriers specific to gender and race.
