The community is used to using the East Brunswick Public Library (2 Jean Walling Civic Center) as a place to borrow books and other items. But this summer, the library will be a concert venue.

East Brunswick Public Library kicks off a six-week concert series this summer every Sunday, from June 2 through July 7. Grant funding has been provided by the Middlesex County Board of County Commissioners through a grant award from the Middlesex County Cultural and Arts Trust Fund.

The first concert features violinist Milena Dawidowicz and pianist Elena Panova on Sunday, June 2. The duo has performed together for over 25 years, highlighting the music of Eastern European gypsies from Hungary, Romania, Russia, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Slovenia. Their concerts are geared towards families and audiences of all ages, including sharing the origins and history of the music they play.
