East Brunswick Public Library Increases Online Program Offerings

The author talks cover a wide variety of genres and subjects.

East Brunswick Public Library (2 Jean Walling Civic Center Drive) has always hosted several bestselling authors for programs and events as special guests. Thanks to a new partnership, the library has increased the number and frequency of online programs accessible from home or vacation.

Through a partnership with the Library Speakers Consortium, East Brunswick Public Library offers more award-winning author talks online than ever. Library users can view the programs online after a brief registration form and watch online on any computer or device.

The author talks cover a wide variety of genres and subjects. Some of the upcoming events are aimed at children and their families.

Newbery Medal-winning author Kate DiCamillo will discuss her beloved Mercy Watson series of kids' books on Tuesday, July 9 at 2:00 pm. Starring a very adventurous pig, DiCamillo has been writing the book series since 2005. This program is geared toward early readers and their parents.

The New York Times bestselling middle-grade author Max Brailer discusses his The Last Kids on Earth series on Tuesday, July 16 at 2:00 pm. The series focuses on a thirteen-year-old boy and his friends surviving a monster apocalypse. Netflix adapted the series as a cartoon series in 2019.

Previous guests include three-time Emmy Nominee and Full House star John Stamos, bestseller Freida McFadden, Smithsonian Museum curator Paula J. Johnson, NPR’s Nina Totenberg, and best-selling cookbook author Lidia Bastianich.

Caldecott Medal Winner, National Book Award Winner and New York Times bestselling author/illustrator Dan Santat leads a program on Tuesday, July 30 at 2:00 pm on how to adapt your life story into a graphic novel.
