A New York-based company has issued an urgent recall for frozen vegetables distributed across multiple states, including New Jersey, due to potential Listeria contamination, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. (FDA)

Endico Potatoes of Mount Vernon, New York, is voluntarily recalling its frozen peas and carrots and mixed vegetables after testing revealed possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination.

The bacteria pose serious health risks, particularly for vulnerable populations including pregnant women, young children, elderly individuals, and those with compromised immune systems.

The contaminated products were distributed to retailers across New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Maryland, Washington D.C., and Florida between July 18 and Aug. 4, 2025, the FDA said.

The recalled items were sold in 2.5-pound clear plastic bags bearing the Endico brand label.

Consumers should check for these specific lot codes:

  • Peas and carrots: Lot 110625 (produced June 11, 2025; use by June 10, 2027)
  • Mixed vegetables: Lot 170625 (produced June 17, 2025; use by June 16, 2027)

Health officials warn that Listeria infections can cause severe symptoms, including high fever, headaches, muscle stiffness, nausea, and abdominal pain in healthy adults.

For pregnant women, the infection carries additional risks of miscarriage and stillbirth.

Anyone who purchased the recalled products should discard them immediately and return them to their point of purchase for a full refund. Questions about the recall can be directed to Endico Potatoes at 1-800-431-1398.
