No summons was issued for a man who attempted to take photos of his SUV at Island Beach State Park on May 16. He had to bail out the vehicle as it sunk into the ocean. State Park Police said they responded to a call Tuesday about a vehicle stuck at Island Beach State Park. A tow company arrived around the same time to find the man at the surf line with his SUV.
About 1,500 customers were without power on May 16 in the Herbertsville section of the township, according to Jersey Central Power & Light. Readers contacting the Patch said power went out about 9:30 p.m. Brick Township police said they were aware of the power outage but did not have information on the cause. Power was estimated to be restored by 1 a.m. though some residents reported getting their power back about 15 minutes after the outage began.
Authorities seized 150 doses of heroin and arrested a Trenton man following a traffic stop in Manchester, police said. Darryl Milton Jr., 23, of Wayne Avenue in Trenton, was arrested at 1:13 p.m. as a result of a surveillance operation, Manchester Lt. Vincent Manco said. The police department’s Narcotics Enforcement Team conducted a traffic stop on the 2000 Acura TL in which Milton was the front seat passenger on Green Acres Road in the Holly Oaks section of Manchester.
Another Pro-Trump Rally Planned For Middletown Saturday
Another pro-Trump rally will be held Saturday, May 20 in Middletown, Trump fans announced. The rally will be held in the same place as the last one, at the corner of Rt. 35 and Harmony Road in the Middletown ShopRite and Retro Fitness parking lot. It will go from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.
East Brunswick Armed Robbery Over Sneakers
An armed robbery, which ended up being with an imitation shotgun, occurred Monday over a Facebook-arranged sneaker sale in East Brunswick Township, police said. Police were called to the Crosspointe condo development a little after 5 p.m. on May 15 for a 9-1-1 call of an armed robbery. The teenage victims told police they arranged to sell two pairs of sneakers to a man they met on Facebook, and they planned to meet him in the area of Crosspointe Drive.
