Upcoming Program Helps Voice-Over Actors

East Brunswick Public Library, Playhouse 22 and NextGen acting team up for the program “Master Your Characters Voice-Over Workshop” on May 23 at 7:00 pm. The program is held at the library (2 Civic Center Drive, East Brunswick).

Led by Dennis Connors, this program helps aspiring voice actors learn to make bold choices with their character's voice. This immersive and interactive event is designed for those interested in voice-over and voice-acting classes, focuses on character development and exploring aspects of voice.

Topics include making confident technical choices, enabling actors to fully concentrate on telling the story and having fun with your characters. Attendees will get a chance to practice with a wide range of scripts from video games, anime, audio plays, fiction podcasts, and animation movies.

Attendees will receive character voice-over packets and have the opportunity to audition for an upcoming audio project being produced by East Brunswick Public Library, NextGen Acting and Playhouse 22.

Connors is a stage, film and voice-over actor from central New Jersey. His work includes the role of Magnus in “Six Minutes,” the most downloaded podcast in the family drama genre. He has also appeared in the 2021 horror/slasher film The Canyonlands and the national commercial for Fire House Subs.

He founded NextGen Acting, which offers acting classes for all ages. Connors specializes in modern techniques for performers, including voice-over work and on-camera acting.
