The Bristal at Englewood Celebrates Resident Natalie’s 100th with Her Own National Day
A local milestone filled with love, laughter, and life lessons
Natalie, a resident at The Bristal at Englewood, just celebrated an incredible milestone, her 100th birthday! Born in Brooklyn on October 17, 1925, Natalie grew up surrounded by strong values, simple joys, and close-knit family traditions. It’s those early roots, she says, that taught her what really matters in life.
While she didn’t attend college, a decision her children, Eileen and Jeffery, still lovingly tease her about, Natalie found success in her own way. She held different jobs, but her favorite was working at a wholesale Christmas décor store. The holiday spirit brought her joy every day, and her cheerful attitude quickly made her a standout. But for Natalie, the real magic was always at home. She married her sweetheart Ralph, and together they built a beautiful life and enjoyed 72 happy years of marriage together.
The Bristal at Englewood hosted a beautiful celebration in honor of Natalie, with Englewood Mayor Michael Wildes in attendance to personally deliver her proclamation. This was no ordinary 100th birthday recognition; Mayor Wildes officially declared October 17, 2025, as “Natalie Grorger Day” in celebration of her remarkable life and legacy.

Reflecting on her 100 years, Natalie keeps it simple: “I lived a beautiful life and enjoyed every moment of it.” Her advice? “Just be happy, smile, and don’t be a grouch.” Words to live by.
