Tee Off for Mental Health at The Community Chest's Golf Outing
Funds raised at the fifth annual golf outing provide grants for local nonprofits responding to increased mental health needs in the area.

Join The Community Chest of Eastern Bergen County at its fifth annual Golf Outing on Monday, May 5, at one of New Jersey's finest golf courses, Edgewood Country Club, located at 449 Rivervale Rd. in River Vale, New Jersey. Golfers may join as individuals or as a foursome. Registration for the outing may be done online.
For nearly a century, The Community Chest has strengthened the community through leadership and philanthropy by spearheading initiatives and supporting nonprofits that help people in need in eastern Bergen County, New Jersey. Golfers can support these initiatives by making a difference -- one hole at a time to support The Community Chest’s work.
This May, Mental Health Awareness Month, The Community Chest embraces the theme, ‘Turn Awareness into Action’, with a special golf outing aimed at promoting mental well-being. “We know playing golf promotes mental well-being through stress reduction, physical activity, social connection, challenge, achievement and focus. The golf outing’s net proceeds will support grant awards to nonprofit agencies providing services to children, adolescents and adults with mental health needs in Bergen County,” said Vicki Sidrow, Associate Executive Director, The Community Chest of Eastern Bergen County.
Co-chairs of the outing are Matthew Bert Libien, Managing Director at Wells Fargo Advisors, and John Wilkens, Principal of Robert Wilkens Insurance Agency, a World Insurance Company. The day's activities begin with registration at 9:00 a.m., followed by a brunch from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. A special feature of this year’s golf outing is a putting contest and the opportunity for golfers to win cash prizes. A shotgun start begins at 11:30 a.m., with cocktails at 4:30 p.m. and dinner. The evening culminates in a celebration with an awards ceremony. In addition, guests may participate in a silent auction and a raffle to support The Community Chest’s work.
