Puppy Nearly Starved To Death Is Fighting For Life At NJ Veterinary Hospital

Garcia, a sweet 5-month-old puppy, is receiving around-the-clock intensive care after he was found as a stray in horrific condition.

HUNTERDON COUNTY, NJ — A puppy is fighting for his life in Hunterdon County after being nearly starved to death in Philadelphia.

Garcia, a 5-month-old puppy, was found as a stray in horrific condition and has been taken in by Outcast Rescue, a rescue group based in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Garcia was transferred to Crown Veterinary Specialists in Lebanon on Wednesday, where he is receiving around-the-clock intensive care.

The rescue group described Garcia as "emaciated, unable to stand, and so weak you can see every bone in his body — Garcia has already endured more than any puppy ever should."

He is also suffering from eye infections, one eye ulceration, and has received blood transfusions to help him in his recovery.

As a result of all of the treatments, Garcia’s veterinary bills are mounting, and Outcast Rescue is seeking donations to help with his care.
