Driver Fled After Striking Pedestrian In South Jersey: Police
Gino Garofolo fled after striking Alisha Cottman with his car, who died at the scene, police said. Philadelphia police later found his car.
EGG HARBOR TWP., NJ — An Atlantic City woman died Tuesday night after being struck in a hit-and-run in Egg Harbor Township, police said.
At about 8 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to the crash on Black Horse Pike and Bayport Drive in the West Atlantic City section of the township, according to a news release.
Gino Garofolo, 32, was driving a 2018 Jeep Wrangler west when he struck 40-year-old Alisha Cottman, who was walking across Black Horse Pike, police said.

Garofolo, a Ventnor resident, fled the scene. His car was later found by Philadelphia police.
Cottman was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Charges are pending the outcome of the investigation, which is ongoing, police said. Traffic was detoured for about five hours Tuesday.
