Firefighters Put Out Blaze At Recycling Center In Galloway

A large pile of debris became fully engulfed in flames at Groff's Recycling Center in Galloway on Sunday afternoon, police said.

GALLOWAY, NJ — A fire was extinguished at Groff’s Recycling Center on Sunday after a large pile of debris became fully engulfed in flames, Galloway police said.

Authorities responded to the facility on Clarks Landing Road in Galloway for a report of a fire at 2:35 p.m. Firefighters contained the fire quickly and prevented it from spreading to the wooded area surrounding the property, police said.

Multiple fire departments from Galloway Township, Egg Harbor Township, Somers Point, Mays Landing and Atlantic City responded to extinguish the fire.

The fire is still under investigation. No injuries were reported.
