'Happy Ending': Responders Deliver Baby On Side Of South Jersey Road
EMTs and police helped deliver baby Miamor on the side of Black Horse Pike. On Monday, they reunited with mom and baby in the hospital.
EGG HARBOR TWP., NJ — It's a birth story that mom will surely be talking about for years to come. Mom Sarah was on her way to the hospital in the early hours of Thursday when she realized the baby wasn't willing to wait. So, Egg Harbor Township police and EMS joined together to help bring baby Miamor into the world - in the passenger side of the car, pulled over on Black Horse Pike.
"We all LOVE a happy ending," said Egg Harbor Township police Monday, after the first responders were able to reunite with mom and baby in the hospital, where both were doing "very well."
It was shortly before 5 a.m. Thursday when Officers Heidi Wollerman, Juwan Parker, Gary Johnson and Samuel Walsh arrived to help deliver the baby. EMTs Jillian Mellish and Bill Shallcross came just in time for baby Miamor to be born. Dispatcher Juliet Lipari took the call and helped keep things calm for mom.
