Knife-Wielding Man Caught After Threatening South Jersey Schools: Cops
Herbert L. Myers called in threats to Hamilton Township schools and then was found brandishing a knife on a bus, police said.
MAYS LANDING, NJ — An Egg Harbor Township man was charged after calling in threats to Hamilton Township schools and then brandishing a knife on a NJ Transit bus, police said.
Herbert L. Myers called police Wednesday making threats against schools in Mays Landing, the Township of Hamilton Police Department said. Nearby schools were notified and put enhanced security measures in place.
Myers, 42, was quickly identified as the suspect, police said.

He was found on a bus in Vineland, and brandished a knife when police contacted him, officials said. All bus passengers, the driver and police officers safely evacuated the bus.
The area of Landis Avenue and Main Road was shut down while Vineland police helped to apprehend Myers, police said.

He was charged with false public alarms and terroristic threats and sits in the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending a detention hearing. Additional charges are pending further investigation, police said.
