Pedestrian Dies After Being Hit By Car On Jersey Shore Highway: Police
The crash on U.S. Route 30 happened early Sunday morning, police said.
ABSECON, NJ — A pedestrian died after being hit by a driver early Sunday along a highway in Absecon, officials said.
The collision happened around 3:30 a.m. along Route 30 (Absecon Boulevard), west of the Delilah Road overpass, according to city police. The driver stayed at the scene to speak with law enforcement.
Authorities have not identified the pedestrian or the driver at this time. Absecon Police and the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office will continue to investigate.

Officials are asking anyone who may have seen the crash, or who has information on what happened, to call the Absecon Police Department Traffic Safety Unit at (609) 641-0667 Ext. 214, and speak with the lead traffic investigator, Ptl. Joseph Akeret.
Traffic was disrupted for about four hours, police added.
