The outbound lanes were closed earlier due to a number of accidents, police say

BRIGANTINE, NJ - Although the southbound lanes of the Brigantine Bridge have been reopened, police are reminding motorists that the travel ban for non-essential drivers is still in place.

"We have reopened the lanes to leave the island," Brigantine police said in a statement. "The intersection of Huron/Brigantine Blvd are very deep with snow with many vehicles stuck. Also, there are still vehicles stranded on Huron itself."

The travel ban remains in place for non-essential personnel.
