Stockton To Offer A Class On Drones And How To Use Them

Learn how to fly unmanned aviation systems properly and legally.

GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP, NJ - Want to learn more about drones and how to use them?

Then register for a course offered by Stockton University's Office of Continuing Studies that begins on Feb. 8 and runs through May 10.

The official title for the course is Unmanned Aviation Systems. It will explore the practical use of drones, in areas like photography, real estate and site inspections. It will be held in B101 on the campus.

The course will be led by Adam Greco, Supervisory Air Traffic Control Specialist at the FAA William J. Hughes Technical Center in Egg Harbor Township.B101 at Stockton.

Participants will get experience with several different types of unmanned aviation systems and will also be prepared for the test required to become a certified drone pilot under Part 107 of FAA regulations.

“They will learn how to fly properly and legally,” Greco said.

The course will include the history and future of UAS, different types of drones available, regulations, safety, and both satellite uplink and direct line-of-sight flight in addition to autonomous flight.
