American Heart Association Basic Life Support / CPR Training for Healthcare Providers at RCBC!

Rowan College at Burlington County's Basic Life Support/CPR certification program is intended for people in the healthcare profession and other personnel who need to know how to perform CPR and other basic cardiovascular life support skills (students, EMT's, doctors, nurses, etc.). This class is required for RCBC's Phlebotomy, Pharmacy, and Central Service Technician programs.

Training includes:

• High-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants
• The AHA Chain of Survival, specifically the BLS components
• Important early use of an AED
• Effective ventilations using a barrier device
• Importance of teams in multi rescuer resuscitation and performance as an effective team member during multi rescuer CPR
• Relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (choking) for adults and infants

Successful completion of the course provides a 2 year American Heart Association certification.

Prerequisite for class:

• Purchase of the book from the American Heart Association
• Reading the book prior to attending class

Please note you are required to purchase the BLS Provider Manual (hardcopy only) you will need for this class.

Please read the book prior to attending class in order to be prepared for the certification. Bring your book, a notepad and pen to the class.
