FRIDAY: Junior Police Academy Graduation, Weekend Reminders

Events and reminders for today and this weekend.

Congrats to the recruits of the Junior Police Academy who complete the week long program today. The recruits will enjoy a barbecue this morning and then tonight in front of their families, they will receieve certificates as they graduate from the academy. The ceremony will begin at 7 p.m. at the auditorium.

At summer playground camp today at , presented by the borough's Recreation Department, the campers will make posters with a July 4th theme and they can also take part in an essay contest asking the question "Why American is the Greatest Country in the World."

A reminder that this is the last weekend the will be open on Saturday until the fall. The library will be closed on Saturdays as of next weekend until just after Labor Day.

Mayor Rose Heck will hold her weekly Saturday hours at the library from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. this Saturday. Starting July 16 she will hold move her weekly meeting time to Mondays from 7 to  8 p.m. Residents are welcome to meet with her during this time to discuss borough issues, concerns or ask questions.
