Planning Board to Hear Hotel Plans, Sylvester's Property Talks Pushed Off
The borough's Planning Board will hear plans for a new hotel on Route 17 Thursday night. Plans to review an application regarding the old Sylvester's Restaurant property has been withdrawn.

Discussion regarding a hotel development on Route 17 will be heard by the Planning Board Thursday night and discussion regarding plans for the old Sylvester’s Restaurant property have been postponed.
Planning Board Secretary Dorothy Bernice said the application for the former restaurant property have been withdrawn. Details regarding the application were not provided. Bernice said discussion regarding the withdrawal of the application is expected Thursday night.
The Terrace Avenue property has been vacant for some time. The old Sylvester’s Restaurant building, which shows visible wear and tear, still stands.

The Planning Board will review an application for the final site plans and a parking variance for the planned hotel on Route 17 South at Ottawa Avenue. An office building currently stands at the location.
The borough’s plans to amend its to allow restaurants with corner properties to offer seating along the side of the property may also move forward as the Planning Board members will review the ordinance Thursday night.
