Theatre Critic Sheridan Whiteside Makes Long Awaited Visit

Witty but acerbic theater critic Sheridan Whiteside arrives in a small town of Ohio just before the Christmas holiday and immediately breaks his leg. Forced to recover at the residence of a rich factory owner Ernest W. Stanley and his family, the high-maintenance "diva" of a host of a national radio program begins to wreak havoc in this 1939 classic and drive not only his hosts but his assistant.

The (BCP) presents the hilarious The Man Who Came to Dinner by George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart, at the Little Firehouse Theatre from March 24 through April 21, with 8pm on Fridays and Saturdays and 2pm on Sundays. 

Directed by Bunny Mateosian, there will be no performances of The Man Who Came to Dinner during the Easter weekend (April 6, 7, 8). Tickets can be purchased online, by calling 201-261-4200, or by visiting the box office at 298 Kinderkamack Road in Oradell during regular box office hours.

Mateosian of Closter, a Life Member who has directed many shows in her 30+ years with BCP including The Mousetrap, Postmortem, The Guys and The Most Ridiculous Thing You Ever Hoid. She has also delighted audiences with her performances in The Full Monty, The Women, Lost In Yonkers, and The Beauty Queen of Leenane, for which she won the 2004 Perry Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress.

Sheridan Whiteside is played by James Lesko of Englewood. James has numerous credits with BCP including last season’s The Cocktail Hour, as well as Pack of Lies, The Most Ridiculous Thing You Ever Hoid and Whodunnit, for which he received a Perry Award Nomination.

Ticket and Schedule Information

• All performances take place at The Little Firehouse Theatre at 298 Kinderkamack Road in Oradell, home to the Bergen County Players since 1949. Performance times are Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm, and Sundays at 2pm. There will be no performances on Easter weekend (April 6, 7, 8).
• Tickets for The Man Who Came To Dinner are $19 for Friday and Saturday performances and $16 for Sunday matinee performances, and can be purchased online at www.bcplayers.org, by calling 201-261-4200 or by visiting the box office at 298 Kinderkamack Road in Oradell during regular box office hours. • As it has for the past few seasons, BCP will continue to offer a Q & A ("Questions & Artists") discussion following select performances. The The Man Who Came To Dinner Q&A will kick off immediately following the Friday, March 30th performance. Admission is included in the cost of the ticket.
• Student Rush tickets are available for $5 for students age 25 and under with valid ID, 30 minutes prior to curtain. One ticket per ID. Cash only. Students can also guarantee their seats in advance either online or through the box office for the special student price of just $14.
• Parking is free for our patrons at the Park Avenue municipal lot, across the street, one-half block north of the theater.
