City Still Holding Off on Paying PSE&G
Bulbs not being changed on at least 87 street lights in town.

The city will still not be paying its bills to PSE&G, because at least 87 street lights around town have not been replaced by the electricity company.
The city stopped paying the bills about two months ago. Initially, Environmental Services Director Jennifer Maier said, 135 street lights around town were identified as being in need of replacement. As of Wednesday, Maier said, the last count was 87.
"They know the bills are not being paid," Maier said during Wednesday night's council meeting, "I’ve conveyed that to them."

Besides the lights themselves, PSE&G also owns the poles, said Business Administrator Arch Liston.
The matter will now have to be reviewed by the Board of Public Utilities, Maier said.
