City Will Now Enforce Parking During New 'Late Night Shift'
Be careful where you park!

Late night parking violators beware: the city is adding a new shift to its parking enforcement, extending coverage until 2 a.m., six nights a week.
"We regularly hear from residents who feel that illegal parking goes unchecked in the late hours, especially on Friday and Saturday nights," Director of Parking and Transportation Ian Sacs said through a press release. "This additional shift will focus on addressing those concerns."
The new shift will start in October. Enforcement during these hours will be focused on abuse of limited resident parking space via permit parking regulations on residential streets, as well as various safety concerns that impede emergency response vehicles from navigating narrow streets, the city announced.

The new extended schedule also allows the Hoboken Parking Utility to relieve the Hoboken Police Department from assuming the responsibility of parking enforcement during hours when enforcement by HPU was previously not scheduled.
Although the parking utility isn't enforcing parking 24/7, parking rules are always in effect, the city warned, even after 2 a.m. and enforced by Hoboken police.
