City Workers Ask for New Equipment; Display Old Trucks
Two Environmental Services employees displayed the department's antiquated equipment.
To convince the members of the city council to pass a bonding ordinance for capital improvements, two environmental services employees displayed the department's more than two-decade old equipment in front of city hall on Wednesday night.
"We need equipment for snow removal desperately," said Robert Brockmann, a supervisor at the environmental services department.
Displayed on Washington Street—lit by bright lamps—were mason dumps, snowplows and payloaders, that were made in the 1980s.
