More Road Work For North Hoboken: Hudson County To Fix Bridge In 'Severe Disrepair'
Hudson County announced Monday afternoon that the bridge between Hoboken and Weehawken needs repairs, and said how long they'll last.

HOBOKEN, NJ — With roads near Hoboken's northern border already undergoing construction to create a low sea barrier, Hudson County announced Monday afternoon that a project will start Tuesday to fix joints on the Willow Avenue Bridge.
"Several of the joints on the Willow Ave. Bridge in Weehawken are in severe disrepair," said Hudson County Executive Craig Guy on Monday. "Currently, they may cause a hazard to motorists and bicyclists with loose concrete and exposed reinforcing bars."
The office said that Hudson County has contracted Sparkwick Contracting Inc. to repair the joints.

Guy said: “As county executive, I am focused on improving the safety and infrastructure of our roads. To that end, several of the joints on the Willow Ave. Bridge in Weehawken are in severe disrepair ... Thank you for your patience as we continue to upgrade Hudson County's road infrastructure."
The county recently came under fire for mistakes in paving sump drains on Park Avenue, as reported first on Patch.
Commuters in town also have experienced some snarls with buses and trains due to Amtrak wires in North Jersey recently.
However, a check of the storm wall construction that started this month, part of the federal Rebuild by Design anti-flooding project in Hoboken, showed that traffic kept flowing. See photos here.
