Diwali Events To Accompany Vendors At Next Main Street Pops Market In Hoboken

HOBOKEN, NJ — Several Diwali events will accompany the Main Street Pops monthly Artisan Market in Hoboken on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The market will offer a wide range of products, including fashion accessories, jewelry, home decor, artisanal foods, and more.

Special events during the popular monthly market will celebrate the Hindu festival of lights.

The Diwali celebration at Main Street Pops Artisan Market will feature:

Shehnaaz Dance Academy will present a dynamic medley of songs and choreographies from different regions of India, showcasing the vibrant costumes, traditional tunes and the country’s rich cultural diversity.

The Hoboken Public Library will host Diwali-themed storytime at noon and give out themed crafts & coloring kits to take home all day.

• Play readings of “My Diwali Light” by local author and playwright Raakhee Mirchandani and a performance of seven songs from Devanand Janki’s “Songs of Light & Joy” will take place at neighboring Mile Square Theatre at 12:30 & 3:00 at 1400 Clinton St.

The market will feature a curated selection of over 70 diverse local vendors showcasing their artisanal offerings as well as a Pumpkin Patch fundraiser hosted by Elysian Charter School in honor of the fall season.

The market will take place under the 14th Street Viaduct (GPS: 1401 Adams St.)
