Driver Slams Into Light Rail Train In Hoboken, Injuring Engineer: NJ Transit
A driver was charged with DUI and a train operator was injured in a crash in Hoboken early Friday, NJ Transit said.

HOBOKEN, NJ — A driver was charged with DUI and a train operator was injured in a crash in Hoboken early Friday morning, NJ Transit said.
At approximately 12:15 a.m., a Hudson-Bergen Light Rail train with eight passengers aboard was struck by a vehicle near Second Street Station on the west side of Hoboken, according. to Transit spokesman Jim Smith.
No injuries were reported to the passengers, Smith said, but the operator of the train said he had back pain.

The operator was taken to a local hospital for evaluation, Smith said.
The driver of the vehicle was arrested by the New Jersey Transit Police for DUI, Smith said. New Jersey Transit Police are leading the investigation.
