Funds From Pink Bagels, Sandwiches At Hudson County Shop Will Fight Breast Cancer

HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — Been looking for a reason to try to the relatively new Bagels on Park sandwich shop in Weehawken? It's on Park Avenue, walkable from both Hoboken and Union City.

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the shop will donate 15 percent of total proceeds from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. to METAvivor Research and Support Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to funding metastatic breast cancer research.

Among the items for you to nosh on: Special pink bagels.

The fundraiser is being launched "In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and inspired by personal stories of survival within the community," said a release. "Customers are encouraged to come out, enjoy a delicious meal, and show their support for the fight against breast cancer."

“This cause is close to our hearts,”said Tina Iordamlis, owner of Bagels on Park. “As a family with survivors of breast cancer, including my mother and sister, Heidi Kottas, we are committed to raising awareness and supporting efforts to find a cure. We invite everyone to come together this Thursday to make a difference.”

In addition to donating proceeds, Bagels on Park visitors will also have the opportunity to contribute directly to the cause by making a donation on-site.

Weehawken resident Susie Felber said, “Bagels on Park is the magical place that does good, and you all have to go there.”
