Few Arrests in Hoboken This New Year's Eve

Police blotter shows a relatively quiet new year's weekend in Hoboken.

Hoboken's New Year's Eve weekend happened without major incidents, police said on Tuesday afternoon. With relatively few fights, it resembled just another Saturday night, based on police reports.

Some fights were reported, such as a brawl at McDonald's on Jan. 1 around 1:15 a.m and an uptown fight after two men were asked to leave an uptown establishment around 1 a.m., according to police reports. One man involved in the uptown fight, according to police reports, had his nose broken.

The next holiday on which the police will be focusing is St. patrick's Day. While the parade may be moved to a Wednesday, it's likely that many people will still flock to Hoboken's bars on the first Saturday of March. The actual St. Patrick's Day—on March 17—will also be on a Saturday this year.

In previous years, however, the actual date of the holiday hasn't caused more trouble than usually, police said, because many people go to New York City that day.
