Cammarano Leaves Federal Prison for New Location; Still in Custody
A spokesman confirmed on the phone on Wednesday.

Former Mayor Peter Cammarano has left the Lewisburg Federal Prison Camp in Pennsylvania, according to Chris Burke, a spokesman for the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
Cammarano left on Wednesday morning, Burke said, but didn't specify a time. Cammarano is still in federal custody.
At the time of the phone call around noon, Burke could not say where Cammarano was going until after his arrival. He did not say when the former mayor was scheduled to arrive for security reasons.

Burke said that it's not unusual for an inmate to be transferred to a community based confinement—such as home imprisonment or a halfway house—toward the end of a sentence.
According to the Bureau of Prisons Cammarano's release date is March 11, 2012. Cammarano was sentenced to 24 months in federal prison on extortion and corruption charges. after pleading guilty to accepting $25,000 in bribes in 2009.
