Free Movies And Events Planned In Hoboken For End Of August
Does summer fun have to end? See "Friday Night Lights" on Hoboken's football field, or view "Top Gun" after trying a flight simulator.

HOBOKEN, NJ — It can be hard for kids to face the last few weeks of summer vacation, knowing they'll have to start getting up early for school again. And parents often scramble for activities to keep their kids busy once camp ends.
Several free movies and events remain for Hoboken residents before they return to school.

- Want to see a football movie on a football field? Hoboken will show Friday Night Lights, the film about Texas high school football that spawned a TV series, on Wednesday, Aug 21 at 8:30 p.m. It'll be shown at Louis Taglieri Stadium. Enter at Tenth and Jefferson streets. Find out more here.
- The county of Hudson, which rotates summer movies among their various parks, will show "Trolls: Band Together" in Hoboken this Thursday, Aug 22. The rain date is the following week. The movie starts at sunset at Columbus Park, located at Clinton and Tenth streets, and popcorn will be provided. Find out more here.
- Do you have the need for speed? Watch "Top Gun" at Pier A Park next Monday, Aug. 26, and try out Hoboken High School's new flight simulators. It's the 1986 version, for you old-school Gen X'ers. Find out more here.

Main Street Pops will hold its monthly artisan market this Sunday, Aug. 25 under the 14th Street Viaduct. They noted, "Enjoy acoustic tunes by Edward Swanton, make your own terrarium with @turnanewleaf.nj, play lawn games and more! See you under the viaduct from 11-4 this Sunday!" Find out more here.
