HOBOKEN, NJ — Are you in the mood for a little laughter?

This weekend, Hoboken High School students will start in "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum," a fast-paced musical farce filled with songs and innuendos.

The Stephen Sondheim musical follows the attempts of a Roman slave has he tries to win his freedom by helping his master woo a woman.

Puns, mistaken identity, and bawdy humor result. In fact, the school recommends the show for ages 12 and up because of the double entendres.

"Come spend two hours with our talented cast of characters and we guarantee you'll forget all your troubles and have a wonderful time!" promised school officials.

The original 1962 Tony Award winning Broadway production starred Zero Mostel and Phil Silvers; the 1969 film adaptation starred Zero Mostel,
Michael Crawford, and Buster Keaton. A 1996 Tony Award winning Broadway revival starred Nathan Lane and Whoopi Goldberg.
