Hoboken Council Honors Late President Jen Giattino At Meeting
Council members at the Hoboken council meeting on Tuesday eulogized Council President Giattino, who died on Nov. 5.

HOBOKEN, NJ — Two weeks after her death, Hoboken City Council President Jen Giattino was still presiding over a town meeting. Her photo was at the dais when the council held their regular meeting on Monday night.
Giattino, who died on Nov. 5 at age 53, was loved by many.
After a blessing from Monsignor Michael Andreano at the meeting, council members shared their thoughts.

"She dedicated so much of herself to helping people on her deeply personal level, a lot that many people don't know," said her close friend and colleague, 2nd Ward Councilwoman Tiffanie Fisher. Fisher gave several examples.
She noted that Giattino assisted a woman who was chronically homeless, getting her into programs for people in her situation, eventually helping her move into affordable housing, and making sure she was supported. Giattino also helped many other neighbors with problems with housing instability, hunger, health, aging, and more.

The meeting was held Monday rather than Wednesday because the League of Municipalities Conference takes place this week.
