Hoboken Italian Festival Starts Next Week, Will Have New Features

HOBOKEN, NJ — On the same day local public schools reopen for kids, Thursday, Sept. 5, some adults will be busy setting up for the first day of Hoboken's annual Italian Festival, otherwise known as the Feast of Madonna dei Martiri.
This year's festival runs through Sunday, Sept. 8.
As the organizers note, "Our 98th Anniversary Celebration! The Hoboken Italian Festival is a four day festival of music food and fun from Thursday through Sunday. No day is greater however than Saturday, our 'Feast' day. The day the 800lb statue of the Madonna Dei Martiri or Madonna of the Martyrs is carried through the streets of Hoboken."

The traditional festival will have some new events and features this year, including a "Italian Cars n Cannolis Car Club Show" on Sunday from 12-4.
They'll also have the traditional food, vendors, demonstrations, and hours of live music.

Among the live acts: a Jersey Shore tribute band, Promised Land, headlining on Friday. They'll play the best of Bruce Springsteen, Southside Johnny, "Little" Steven Van Zandt, and more.
