Hoboken Public Safety Meeting Postponed After Death Of Councilwoman

Hoboken's public safety meeting has been postponed due to the death of Council Presiden Jen Giattino, the city said.

HOBOKEN, NJ — A public safety meeting planned for Wednesday afternoon, in response to the recent assaults at Church Square Park, has been postponed due to the death of Council President Jen Giattino, the city said Wednesday.

"Tonight's council meeting and the community public safety meeting have been postponed following the passing of Council President Jen Giattino," the city wrote. "A new date and time will be announced in the coming days." READ MORE: Council President Giattino Passes Away

Troy Timberlake, 31, was charged last Thursday with aggravated assault, endangering an injured victim, child cruelty, and refusal to submit fingerprinting, police said. He was then taken to the Hudson County Correctional Facility, police said.

He was still being held there as of Monday, town officials said.
