Hoboken To Receive FEMA Fire Grant

U.S. Senators Bob Menendez and Frank Lautenberg announced that the Hoboken fire department will get nearly $300,000.

Hoboken is one of five New Jersey fire departments that will receive money from a Federal Emergency Management Agency fire fighters grant, U.S. Senators Bob Menendez and Frank Lautenberg announced on Thursday.

Hoboken will receive $272,697 for operations and safety. In total the government is dividing $1.7 million over five departments.

"With so many municipalities facing tough budget decisions, this direct federal investment in our local firefighters is especially important to the safety of our communities," Lautenberg said. "We will continue working to make sure our first responders are well prepared to keep families in New Jersey and across the country safe."
