Hoboken Woman Allegedly Robbed By Babysitter

One Hoboken woman was allegedly robbed by a 26-year-old woman she employed as a baby sitter, according to Hoboken police.

The victim said her credit card was used without her consent on Sunday Oct. 23, according to police reports, and items were stolen from the woman's Jefferson Street apartment.

On that same Sunday, the baby sitter left around 9 p.m., but never returned, police said. The next day, the victim noticed her fur coat missing, as well as a pair of earrings and a ring, police said.

According to the police report, the following charges were put on the victim's American Express card: $412.99 at Target in the Newport Mall, $28.60 at Hoboken Vine and on online purchase of $310.84 at Neiman Marcus.

The baby sitter confessed to using the credit card and asked her family members to return the items to the victim, police said, but not all items—such as the fur coat—were returned, according to the report.

No arrests were made, police said. It's unclear if the victim will file a complaint, police said.
