Hobokenite to Run First Marathon
Lots of athletic Hobokenites are running the New York City marathon this weekend. One of them is 25-year-old Emily Faherty.

Emily Faherty knows every inch of the Hoboken waterfront.
After deciding to run the New York City marathon, Faherty started training and has ran along the waterfront countless times. She has also been training in New York City and has run up to Weehawken and down to Jersey City, she said.
"I know every inch of that pathway right now," she said. "My running friends in New York are jealous ... we have the best view in the world."

On Sunday, Faherty, 25, will be one of the Hobokenites who will compete in the New York City marathon and run more than 26 miles.
Faherty, who has lived in Hoboken for about two years, started participating in competitive running competitions every month. "I got totally addicted to racing," she said. But, she added, "I didn't think I'd ever make it to the marathon level."

Last year Faherty watched the marathon in New York. This year, a delegation will come from Hoboken to support her. Faherty's brother, who also lives in town, will be taking family members and friends into New York City to cheer Faherty on.
