Hoboken's Former State Fiscal Monitor Dies
Judy Tripodi, who worked in Hoboken from 2008-2010 passed away.

Judy Tripodi, who served as Hoboken's state fiscal monitor for roughly two years, passed away early on Friday morning.
Tripodi was called to Hoboken after the city council was unable to pass a fully funded budget in 2008. Before coming to the Mile Square, Tripodi worked for the state of New Jersey for many years.
Mayor Dawn Zimmer expressed her condolences and sadness in a statement on Friday.

"During her time in Hoboken, Judy took the important first steps towards putting us back on course towards a sustainable and fiscally responsible future," Zimmer said in the statement. "I deeply appreciate all the work she did for the City of Hoboken."
Tripodi left Hoboken in May, 2010, when the state decided Hoboken could be fiscally independent again. Tripodi was sent off with a luncheon in the basement of City Hall, during which all employees expressed their gratitute and fondness of Tripodi.

A viewing will take place this Sunday, June 19 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Gerity & Chubenko Funeral Home located at 411 Amboy Ave, Woodbridge, NJ. A funeral mass will take place on Monday, June 20 at 9 a.m. at St. James, located at 341 Amboy Ave, Woodbridge, NJ.
